Summer Workshops with the Lake Artists Society

Allan Bank, Grasmere

Lake Artists are back again at historic Allan Bank running exclusive workshops for a limited number of students   This is a great opportunity to learn from practising artists in a wonderful , tranquil setting. 

  At one time the home of romantic poet William Wordsworth, Allan Bank overlooks Grasmere Lake with stunning grounds and fascinating interior spaces to explore.  

Each day course runs from 10am -4pm and is priced at £75 including your entry fee.

Bring along a packed lunch to enjoy in the comfort of the cosy kitchen or have a picnic in the garden.  Refreshments are available throughout the day and there is limited parking on site.

Painting Summer Gardens and Interiors

On this relaxed and informal course,  you will have the opportunity to work both inside Allan Bank and outside in its beautiful Gardens with one to one guidance from Ceri . You may bring along your preferred painting or drawing media and we will cover aspects of composition, colour mixing , light and shadows.

For inspiration there will be  a short presentation illustrating work of many great painters of gardens such as Claude Monet, Pierre Bonnard and Eduard Vuillard. 

Students of all levels of experience are welcome!

Painting without and within

Spend the day exploring and painting the evocative interior spaces at Allan Bank – looking through windows and doorways onto the wonderful gardens .  Following a short presentation with inspiration from some of the greatest painters of interiors – from the ‘intimiste’ painters Vuillard and Bonnard to modern masters such as Andrew Wyeth,  you will have the opportunity to work at your own pace with one to one guidance from Ceri You may bring along your preferred painting or drawing media and we will cover aspects of depicting space, composition, colour mixing , light and shadows.  Students of all levels of experience are welcome!
